Northmead Junior School

Return to school.

A big thank you to everyone for your kind comments and support which helped to make the first two days back such a success. It has been great to see happy and relaxed children back in school.

Following the Government`s advice and discussions with our Athena trustees , we have agreed to keep all children in class bubbles including year 6 in order to limit the risk of mixing across bubbles indoors at the present time. This will be kept under constant review for year 6 children . The new systems we have put in place following the Government guidance have worked very well. As you are aware, we have increased hygiene practices, washing hands and using sanitiser every time the children return to their classrooms and before eating lunch. Individual classroom tables are cleaned regularly, as well as the individual boxes of play equipment. The new one-way system is effective at keeping bubbles separate, as well as increasing our steps and fitness levels !

The staggered start times, playtimes, lunch breaks and collection times have been helpful for keeping children within their own bubbles. We are pleased to tell you the children have responded very well to our new expectations.

You are welcome to bring your child down into the playground in the morning and to meet them there at the end of the day. We would ask you to remain mindful of social distancing.

Have a relaxing weekend, everyone is ready for a little rest.

We look forward to seeing you all on Monday morning ready for our first full week.

Kind regards,

Debbie Brown
