Sports Relief 2018
This year for sports relief the children will be taking part in a sponsored mile run.
Along with this letter, all children will be sent home with a sponsorship form. We hope that they can gather as many sponsors as they can over the weekend and the beginning of next week so that we can once again make a meaningful donation to a wonderful cause. Everyone will have a session during the school day next week to run with their year group. Please ensure that any donations are collected and handed in by Friday 23rd March! We are unable to collect any more donations after this date, but you can arrange to send any late donations yourself!
In 2016, Northmead Junior School raised one of the highest amounts in Surrey! As a ‘thank you’ from Sports Relief, on the 22nd of March, we have been given the incredible opportunity to welcome Zara Mullooly to our school. Zara is a member of the GB Paralympic swimming team, whose impressive achievements include setting a British record in the 50m freestyle category and has her sights set on the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics. She will be presenting an assembly for the whole school and also meeting with each year group to do a Q&A session.
Today, children have been reminded about all the good that donations to Sports Relief can do and we hope you can help them in raising as much money as possible! As an additional effort, you will also be able to purchase Sports Relief 2018 wristbands from the school office. Children will also get the opportunity to buy these during the school day. Wristbands cost £1.
