My Child At School (MCAS)

Parents are aware that Northmead moved over to a new MIS System (how we store and use our school data) called Bromcom during the February half-term. This change is currently happening in phases across all schools in the Learning Partners Academy Trust. If your child has siblings at Stoughton Infant School, you may already be familiar with this system.
Please see the information below regarding the plans for school payments and communications after the Easter Holidays and a useful parent guide for our new system.
Please ensure you sign up ahead of our 'Go-Live' date-22nd April - watch out for an email in the next week or so (make sure you check your spam/junk folders).
From Tuesday 22nd April, Bromcom’s parent app called ‘MyChildAtSchool’ (MCAS) will be replacing both Parentmail and Studybugs.
Parents will receive an invitation to register for MCAS. We ask that parents respond to the email as soon as possible so that you are registered before 22nd April, when we will no longer be using Parentmail or Studybugs.
After you have received your email and registered your account, you can access MCAS from here, or you can install the MCAS Parent App either from the App Store or Google Play, depending on what type of mobile device you have. Please ensure that you enable notifications (including push notifications) on the mobile app.
From the 22nd April you will be able to use MCAS as follows:
Communication (MCAS Inbox)
• View messages sent from the school office and class teachers
• Send messages directly to the school office
Attendance
• Report absence due to illness or upcoming medical appointments (in attendance). From here you can also upload copies of supporting documents such as appointment letters when reporting absence.
• View your child's attendance marks
• You must continue to use the Request for Leave of Absence Form for absence due to exceptional circumstances.
Data Collection
• Review and update parent and children's personal data.
• Annual review of parent permissions and emergency contact persons
Payments, Clubs and Trips
• Book and pay termly for Multisports and other paid clubs (all external agency clubs and the Stoughton Breakfast Club will continue to be booked in the usual way)
• Book and pay for Northmead Supporters Team (NST) organised events and fundraisers
• Pay Trip Fees Please find attached a Parent Guide for more information should you need it. We feel that MCAS is intuitive and user-friendly, and it should be a smooth transition over to the new app for you.
Please bear with us while we also get used to this new way of working. No doubt there will be some hiccups along the way, but we will do our best to keep any disruption to a minimum and to be as clear as possible while we all work together through this transition.
