Year Three Wisley Gardens School Trip
This event will take place on 17/01/2019.
As an exciting introduction to our learning about rainforests we have planned a trip to Wisley Gardens on Thursday 17th January 2019. The trip will take place during school hours.
The children will become plant explorers for the day. They will find out about plant adaptations by exploring the glasshouse and seeing how resourceful these plants have become in adapting to the conditions of a rainforest. We will compare these plants to our native woodlands and investigate the differences observed.
The children should wear their school sweatshirt, but may wear jeans or jogging bottoms with trainers. They will need to bring a warm, waterproof coat. We will be outside for a large part of the day so it is essential children are warm enough. We would encourage children to wear plenty of layers and to bring hats, gloves and scarves.
Each child will also need a packed lunch with a drink (no cans or glass bottles please) which should be brought in a rucksack. If your child is entitled to free school meals, please tick the relevant section on the reply slip below if you would like the school to provide your child with a packed lunch. Children do not need to bring pocket money or cameras.
The cost for each child to attend will be £5.00. We would be grateful if the contribution could be paid by the end of term. We would like to remind parents that although the payment is a voluntary contribution, if the costs for the activities are not covered then they may have to be cancelled.
