Welcome to Year 5

We hope that your child will be very happy this year and enjoy the opportunities offered in Year 5.

If you have any concerns or would like to discuss your child with their class teacher do ring and book an appointment to see us.  We are keen to work in partnership with parents so the children in our care get the best out of their school experience and continue to flourish.

 Routines and Reminders

Reading Homework - Hand in your reading record signed 3 times by an adult every Monday. 

English Homework - English homework is set on Fridays to be handed in on Mondays.

Maths Homework - Maths homework is set on Tuesdays to be handed in on Thursday.

Spellings and Times Tables are to be practised throughout the week for a weekly test.

Topic Homework is set termly in the form of an extended project.

Games is on Monday afternoons and PE takes place on Tuesday afternoons - Please ensure your child's comes to school in their PE kit on both of these days. 

Clarinet Lessons - Year 5 children learn the clarinet for a term as part of the music curriculum. This is an exciting opportunity to learn an instrument and perform in a small concert. Clarinet lessons will be starting in September. Each class will learn this instrument for 10 weeks. Lessons take place on Thursdays. Your child will receive details when it is their turn for lessons with their class.
