Year Three Reminder for Wisley Trip

As an exciting introduction to our learning about rainforests and plants, we have planned a trip to Wisley Gardens on 10th January 2023. The trip will take place during school hours.

The children will become plant explorers for the day. They will find out about plant adaptations by exploring the glasshouse and seeing how resourceful these plants have become in adapting to the conditions of a rainforest.  We will compare these plants to our native woodlands and investigate the differences observed.

The children should wear their school sweatshirt, but may wear jeans or jogging bottoms with trainers. They will need to bring a warm, waterproof coat. We will be outside for a large part of the day so it is essential children are warm enough.  We would encourage children to wear plenty of layers and to bring hats, gloves and scarves.

Each child will also need a packed lunch with a drink (no nuts, cans or glass bottles please) which should be brought in a rucksack. Please remember this is strictly no nuts. This rucksack will be left unattended so please do not send any valuables or unnecessary personal items. If your child is entitled to free school meals, please indicate if you would like the school to provide your child with a packed lunch, at least 10 days before the trip. Children do not need to bring pocket money or cameras.

The cost for each child to attend will be £7.50. We would like to remind parents that although the payment is a voluntary contribution, if the costs for the activities are not covered then they may have to be cancelled.

We ask payment to be made online using Parentmail.

Thank you for your support.
