We are looking to recruit a passionate and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work with the class teacher to support the running of the classroom and focussing on the needs of a disabled pupil. Hours of work: This is a term-time, fixed-term contract from 1st September 2025 to 31st August 2026, with the possibility of extension. Term time only – 39 weeks a year - 30 hours per week – 8.30am to 3.15pm – Monday to Friday.

Salary range: £24,242 (£17,531 pro rata) - £12.92 per hour.

A typical day in the life of a teaching assistant:

· Assisting the teacher with routine classroom tasks.

· Preparing learning materials and setting up equipment.

· Assisting individual children or groups of children, some of them with special education needs.

· Contributing, where appropriate, to any discussion of pupils’ needs and progress.

· Making sure the learning environment is safe.

· Support pupil activities and behaviour.

· Participate in any relevant staff development activities.

· Assist in meeting the children’s needs for encouragement and reassurance.

· Liaising with parents.

· Following safeguarding policy and procedures.

The successful candidate will have:

· A calm, friendly manner and the ability to build rapport with pupils.

· Great verbal communication skills.

· Flexibility to adapt to constantly changing priorities.

· Ability to work well within a team.

· A commitment to equality and inclusion.

· The ability to reflect on and develop their own practice with support from colleagues and the Learning Partner Trust CPD programme.
