Few children drink enough water. Experts recommend that children drink at least 6-8 glasses of fluids (ideally water, but also milk) spread throughout the day, with more in warm weather and when exercising. Low fluid intake can cause problems with health, behaviour and can affect concentration and learning. Children are encouraged to bring bottles of still water into school which will be kept in their classrooms. This gives the children access to water throughout the day.
